Political Correctness Gone Nuts at Seattle’s SAFECO Field
“Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack….”
Just not in certain sections of Seattle’s SAFECO Field during two up reaching Mariners home games.
Yeah, that’s right. Peanut and Cracker Jack sales module be banned from sale in Sections 311 and 312 during games on Aug. 5 and Sept. 9 games. They’re also banning sales of peanuts and Cracker Jacks from certain assent stands in the park.
The brief article gives no hint as to ground the Mariners are pulling this stunt. (To entertainer the handful of people allergic to peanuts to check our MLB-worst team, I suppose.)
OK, in all seriousness, I realize and appreciate that some people are allergic to peanuts. I’m really sorry about you missing out that shell-filled goodness. But if one is so fatal allergic that they have to have a special section set aside because they can’t even be near peanuts (if one can even sustain such a noxious reaction to mere airborne “peanut dust” is even possible) or, God forbid, one might step on a shell with their shoes or have a shell fall on their lap, here’s an idea: You probably shouldn’t be outside in the first place!
Apparently other ballparks have had similar “days” at their parks, too.
I feel same feat to these games, sitting in these sections and sneaking in some Fiddle Faddle. Or a PB&J sandwich. Just to see what happens.
