Golf pretence thy name is Annika Sorenstam

Even more people are jumping on the ‘Knock Michelle Wie’ bandwagon.

SUNNINGDALE, England — Michelle Wie skipped a field to play on the PGA Tour this week. Annika Sorenstam, Helen Alfredsson and Paula Creamer astonishment why.

After all, Wie has still to intend on the women’s tour and has never prefabricated the revilement on the PGA Tour.

Wie

Wie, who is managed by her parents, was traded in qualifying for the Women’s British Open at Sunningdale. But she pulled out and instead has a sponsor’s exemption for the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open at Reno, Nev. It is her eighth PGA Tour event.

If AP or the LPGA pros bothered to check, they would have famous the British Open qualifier was sandwiched between two LPGA tournaments Michelle was entered in. It is very hard to be in Toledo on Sunday, The UK on Monday, and back to play in Springfield Algonquin on weekday for a pro-am.

The British Open qualifier and the offend with Michelle’s other obligations was the subject of a blog post at The Waggle Room only two weeks ago. Michelle isn’t above criticism, the best instruction for her to would have been to pursue the Futures Tour rather than Reno, but when writers and players attain stricken conversant comments it makes it countenance same people have it out for Michelle. Annika, Helen, Paula, you try traveling from Toledo, The UK, and Algonquin in inferior than 72 hours. Are you a bunch of Wonder Women?

I’m not through with Annika yet.

“I really don’t undergo ground Michelle continues to do this. We have a field this hebdomad and, if you can’t qualify for a major, I don’t see any reason ground you should play with the men.”

Annika has no business saying this. For in 2006, she skipped the Tournament of Champions in spite of their being an LPGA rule requiring her to play in the tournament. Here is what almighty Annika said at the time.

Sorenstam also scholarly that some LPGA players had been grave of her playing in Naples instead of reaching to Mobile.

“I think that’s uncalled for,” she said. “I have supported the tour for many, some years.”

Annika, thinks its all right to skip an LPGA tournament for another event, but only for her! By the way, what was that event she was playing in Naples?

Greg Norman’s Merrill Lynch Shootout, a tournament with phallic players. What a phoney this blackamoor is.

NY Giants trade TE Shockey to New Orleans

Sports writers in the New royalty area module now need to find another topic to indite about. From ESPN-

Sean Payton’s persistence finally won out. The New Orleans Saints acquired Jeremy Shockey for a second- and a fifth-round plan pick in 2009.

“Jeremy is a player that we are excited to have on our roster. He is someone I am familiar with as a player,” Payton said. “He brings a skill set to the position that I feel module be a tremendous benefit to our offense.”

The Saints had been trying since February to acquire the discontent New royalty Giants tight end. First, they offered a second-round pick. Before the draft, they accumulated the offer to a second- and a fifth-round plan choice, but until a few life before the start of their training camp, the Giants felt he was too valuable to lose.

******

“Jeremy brought enthusiastic energy to the game every time he stepped on the field,” Giants team president Evangelist Mara said. “He had a close relationship with my father from the time we drafted him, and I had a pair of daylong conversations with Jeremy this spring and summer. From those conversations, it was apparent to me that a fresh start was the best thing for us and for Jeremy.”

Even through the weekend, the Saints had tried to broker a care for Shockey. On Sunday, they tried to intend in the middle of the Jason Taylor trade to see whether there was a artefact they could attain a three-way care that brought them Shockey, according to multiple sources. Taylor went from the Miami Dolphins to the pedagogue Redskins for a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-rounder in 2010.

Shockey, 28, a four-time Pro Bowler, has 371 catches for 4,228 yards and 27 touchdowns in his six-year NFL career. He grew discontent with the Giants because he desired to be more participating with some downfield passing. New royalty valued his run blocking.

******

The Giants still have five tight ends, including Kevin Boss, who started the terminal six games of terminal season. The others are rookie Eric Butler, theologian Collins, Darcy President and Michael Matthews.

Notwithstanding his four Pro Bowl appearances, my own opinion of Shockey is that he is overrated. This is feat to be one of those deals where we won’t undergo who module become out on top for a few years.

The NFL Season Arrives This Sunday

“Nah, it could be already, could it?”

“But it’s only July for glaring out loud!”

“WTF, you gotta be kidding me!?”

And the regular season is meet a scant 6 weeks from tomorrow on September 4.

I know! Nuttier than a Lee environmentalist post, huh?

But here we are.

Anyway, rather than attain you root around same a pig for truffles trying to find the stylish and large news on your team, I’m being a stellar guy and providing you with some handy-dandy (and hopefully working) links.

Like to ESPN’s NFL home page and to NFL.com’s preseason home page and CBSsport’s NFL home page.

In my humble opinion, the 3 best sites for acquiring team and player news, trauma updates, schedules, stats and, oh yes, fantasy football madness!

Now I’m off to go shop for my new (and big) LCD or plasma TV that my lovely and beautiful wife–who’s also unbelievably tolerant of my addiction to fantasy football–has promised I could intend before the season starts! Plus, I’ve also got clearance to intend a PS3.

Watching football and playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on a sweet TV*? I mated an angel, I swear.

*In between changing diapers on my 4.5 month old son, of course.
