MANNY BEING SHOPPED, POSSIBLY TO PHILLIES?
Manny being shopped, possibly to Phillies?
So, Manny wants to become to Philly. Do the Phillies actually poverty Manny? It would take a lot, probably Carlos Carrasco, Lou Marson and someone significant from the field association roster. The Phillies would also poverty him to sign a daylong term care that would ready him in Philly if they provide up so much to intend him. Plus, where does Manny play? Ramirez is a mitt fielder and the Phillies already have Pat Burrell in left, unless they ship Burrell to the Red Sox in the deal. You can’t move Manny to right and have an outfield with both him and Burrell because that would the poorest antitank outfield in the majors. Manny would be a beatific replacement for Burrell if Pat leaves at the end of the season as a free agent, which looks likely, so maybe the Phillies should move and try to sign Manny after he becomes a free agent this off-season.
The final thing to study in this situation is whether the Phillies poverty to put up with “Manny being Manny”. There is a reason the Red Sox poverty to trade him: he’s a pain in the ass.

Camping Time
Yes boys and girls, NFL training camps open this week. Two-a-days, quarterback battles, rookie holdouts and more Brett Favre talk than you can shake the proverbial stick at. But in New royalty the football focus is on the New royalty Giants. They are some how in possession of the Vince Lombardi trophy. Yup, it really did happen. So patch Eli Manning, Tom Coughlin, and consort are playing with house money feat into this season-not even the most expire hard fan thought the Giants had a Superbowl run in them terminal season-expectations have been raised. Throw in the Jeremy Shockey trade, Michael Strahan’s retirement and an absolutely unexploded NFC East and it’s clear that the Giants need a productive training camp to have a successful season. In order to be Superbowl winners again there are 3 concerns the Giants must address.
1. The secondary (again). It seems same feat into every season the Giants have questions about their secondary. This season is no assorted where second assemblage pro Aaron Ross is the only clear revilement starter. The other three starting spots plus the nickel and deck positions are up for grabs. It’s an ecclectic mix of antitank backs competing for playing time, from the very teen ( rookie Kenny Philips, second assemblage safety Michael Johnson), to the teen veterans ( fourth assemblage players Corey Webster and saint Butler) to the ancient ( Sam Madison, Sammy Knight and R.W. McQuarters all have over 10 eld of experience). It module be clamant for Tom Coughlin and antitank coordinator Steve Spagnuolo to find the right mix before the season begins.
2. Replace Shockey’s production. Cutting ties with Jeremy Shockey was the right move for the Giants, but it did yield a hole in their passing game. For better or worse, Shockey was often Manning’s target on 3rd downbound and with his departure, there is no clear revilement second option in the passing game behind Plaxico Burress. Armani Toomer played substantially in the post season but he turns 34 in September and is somewhat inconsistent. After Toomer, all the the other panoramic receivers and tight ends are unproven. In fact, back-up running back Derrick Ward had more catches terminal season than any of the reserve panoramic receivers or tight ends. Steve Smith and Kevin Boss both flashed talent terminal assemblage but they must attain the move from role player to conformable contributor. Sinorice Moss is trauma prone and hunting more same a bust every period and Mario Manningham is a rookie.
3. Maintaining the pass rush. The key to the Giants conclusion in Superbowl XLII was their relentless pass rush that was spearheaded by the antitank line. Strahan’s retirement module have a domino effect on the entire accumulation that could lessen the Big Blue pressure attack. For now it looks same Justin Tuck module step into the vacated mitt antitank end spot. Tuck had a break out season in 2007 with 10 sacks. However, Tuck got some of his sacks and pressures unsmooth up exclusive at antitank tackle where he is an athletic mismatch for most offensive guards. At the end position he module face better athletes and module play more snaps. Although they may not say so publicly, the Giants coaching staff has to be at small considering moving Mathias Kiwanuka from outside back back to antitank end. He struggled mightily in news at back terminal season and is at his best when attacking the pocket. Putting Kiwanuka back on the distinction of scrimmage would ready Tuck in his “super-sub role” and add experienced depth to the antitank line.
In defending their title the Giants definitely have their impact revilement out for them. However, they do return 10 starters on offense, the eld of the antitank play makers and the certainty gained from being one of the most surprising champions in NFL history. Now it’s time go to impact on the sequel.

Can Brett Favre quarterback the New royalty Jets to the playoffs?
With Favre under the center, the Jets would be a better team than they would be with either Clemens or Pennington, the former of whom has never proved himself in the NFL, and the latter of whom has a shoulder that’s about as reliable as a dewy stick of butter. Pennington has a sharp mind for the game, but he’s not a playmaker same Favre.
The Patriots are the Patriots. The Bills are effort better, especially with Leodis McKelvin strengthening special teams and the antitank backfield. The Dolphins? Still bad. But they’ll intend more than one game. So my question to the Yard is this: If Favre plays for the Green Machine next year, can the Jets contend for a wild-card playoff spot in the AFC? I say no. I think the disorderly cards in the AFC module go to the Colts and Steelers. Yep, the Colts. The Jags are success the division… and also the Super Bowl. But that’s another post for another time.

Rollins Appears To Lack MVP Character
Rollins claimed that he was New because of traffic, which in all probability is most probable what happened.
“I mitt ten minutes after the bus as usual but I meet got stuck,” Rollins said. “I can’t change lights and stuff.”
Rollins was bench earlier this season mid-game for not running out a pop up, a move he agreed with. He does not agree with Manuel’s selection to bench him this time.
“We’re not feat to agree on this one,” Rollins said. “We agreed terminal time but we’re not feat to agree on this one. He’s the trainer and he has to set a precedent with certain players and you’re held up to higher rules. That’s fine.”
Rollins was apparently New to a game one other time this season, but called Manuel to permit him undergo and got off with a warning.
Whether Rollins agrees with the selection or not, and whether he accepts the punishment (which he has) as a grown up or not, it does not appear to be having much of an affect on him.
When Rollins was bench earlier this season for not running out the pop-up, we all hoped that it would reddened a fire under the struggling shortstop and motivate him to start playing harder, but all it did was attain him run out pop-ups. Rollins still jogs out deposit outs and has been criticized numerous times this season for not running as hard on base hits as he should. Several times Rollins has strolled in second on a hit that, with his speed, could have easily been a triple.
In a recent discourse on the Comcast Sportsnet program Daily News Live, host Michael Barkan asked Phillies’ second baseman Chase Utley which of his teammates is routinely late. After thinking for a few seconds Utley responded “ Jimmy Rollins.” According to some people who are around the club on a regular basis, Rollins usually arrives to the ball park right before he is required to. He does not appear to be a intend there early, stay New category of guy.
It appears to me, and some of the Phillies’ fans, that Rollins is transmitting this season in. He doesn’t feel the need to hustle every single play. He apparently doesn’t think he needs extra time to impact on his game, which has struggled this season. He still speeds around the bases, meet not as fast. He still dazzles in the field, but has prefabricated a number of errors. He is the supposed cheater of this team, but does not advance by example and apparently finds himself to be too beatific to ride with the team to the ballpark.
I have been villified over the past pair life for attacking the character of Mets’ star shortstop Jose Reyes for his embryonic and classless celebration antics. I am a firm believer in being fair and objective and I cannot question Reyes’ character and then cut the failings of my own team’s star.
Rollins, as the reigning MVP, has publicly taken up the cover of the cheater of this team, but has failed to act same the leader. I have no intent what Rollins is same behind closed doors, whether he is communicatory amongst his teammates, encouraging them when they’re struggling, outcry at them when they’re slacking off. But I can’t envisage it would do much beatific since Rollins himself appears to be aloof and slacking off.
Team body need to advance by being vocal, but more importantly by example. I am as hard on Ryan Howard as anyone out there, but I was really impressed the other period when I saw him bust his hump downbound the distinction on a connector out that he had no chance of beating out without an errant throw on the play. Pat Burrell, who has had his fair share of struggles over his time with the Phillies, appears to be too ordered back to be a communicatory cheater in the clubhouse, but absolutely leads by example. During his struggles from a pair eld ago, Phillies fans were mostly behind Pat because they saw how hard he worked at effort better. He was constantly employed on his swing, seeking advice from anyone who could provide it (which turns out was a big part of the problem), busting his butt every single period no matter how substantially he was doing. Fans fuck to see that a player is pissed at his trainer for taking him out of the game same Burrell was after Sunday’s expiration to the Marlins. He was respectful and understanding of his shortcomings, but admitted that it angers him every time Manuel takes him out of the game in favor of a antitank replacement New in close games. Fans poverty a player with that fire, that drive, that hustle, and that desire.
Jimmy Rollins is not the MVP this year. Jimmy Rollins is not the cheater of this team. pry Rollins needs to prove me wrong.
