DOES KABBALAH CURE CHOKING?
Does Kabala Cure Choking?
Posted by Teddy Panos, Sun Staff Washing the mind patch wondering ground has-been pop stars don’t entertain New night visits from sportswriters: What a strange bird this A-Rod character is. Great baseball player, but strange. Not to withdraw too far into the soap opera aspects of this episode, but either he really is as cold as he’s being accused of being, or he fakes “cool under fire” pretty darned well. Both scenarios are category of troubling. Is “Kabbalah” ancient Hebrew for “I’m about to retrograde half a fortune in split but I can still achievement around with this goofy, not a care in the concern countenance on my face?” Haven’t quite put my finger on it yet, but something’s missing from this Red Sox team, something I fear not even the return of king Ortiz can cure. The sum of the parts meet doesn’t seem to equal the whole. Maybe the eye of the tiger is gone. Maybe Father Time has caught up with too some key contributors. Maybe it’s the traveling secretary’s fault. Something. Let you undergo as soon as I’ve figured it out.
You won’t intend much speaking about saint Posey being option number one for the Celtics this offseason. But if Big Game saint is sure to move on to greater riches, Cory Maggette isn’t a bad 1A. I’ll take a 28-year old who averaged more than 22-points per game terminal assemblage as a fallback option. Even if his antitank game isn’t up to Posey’s high standards, being on the same practice suite as Kevin Garnett module elevate Maggette’s take of play. All you need to do is check out game tape of Paul Pierce and Ray Allen birthing downbound the “D” to see what effect a lowercase effort and motivation can have on that side of the court. The area we don’t undergo about, and won’t until he’s tested under fire, is how the former Duke star performs when the money’s on the line. In that regard, Posey doesn’t have some peers. And that’s a skill set you can’t teach. You either have it, or you don’t. Ben Coates certainly earned his place in the Patriots Hall of Fame. Very nice tight end, with some eye popping numbers in his prime. Best tight end in Patriots history? Not even close. Russ Francis holds that distinction. Had he played in a passing era, the player Howard Cossell dubbed “All-World” would have easily matched Big Ben’s reception numbers. Not meet that, but some in the undergo say he was the second best blocker on those 70’s Patriots squads, ranking right behind a guy by the name of Hannah.
The reason that magnificent Federer-Nadal suburbia final won’t advance to a tennis resurgence here in the States is because neither one of them is American. That’s too bad, but as a sporting nation, we tend to cut accomplishments unless they become from one of our own. And what once seemed same an fateful territory to career Grand Slam records for Roger Federer and Tiger Woods doesn’t seem same such a foregone closing now, does it? In the case of the Swedish racket star, Rafael Nadal’s emergence has slowed the assault on Pete Sampras’ record of 14 (Federer has 12). As for Tiger, trauma seems to be the biggest stumbling block. How Woods articulatio responds to the stylish surgery could go a daylong artefact in determining how close he gets to Jack Nicklaus’ 18-majors (needs four more to tie). Me? I’m still inactivity to indite my first success column. And for that late-night invitation from Debbie Gibson. That’s the analyse from here…how do you see things?

Ortiz on the Mend
David Ortiz took about 25 swings this afternoon at balls on a tee and reported no discomfort. But he’s still several weeks away from returning to the Red Sox lineup. “I think I’m another few weeks, maybe three weeks, before I start swinging (at springy ptiching), Ortiz said after the workout. “It’s meet weak,” he said of his wrist, which has been immobilized since June 1 to allow a torn sheath around a tendon to heal. He could be ready to start a rehab assignment somewhere around the All-Star break in mid-July.

Any experienced fan module undergo that the Rooney family has owned the Steelers for a very daylong time.
Art Rooney Sr. bought the team eld ago in a very unique manner.
His affiliation with the NFL began in 1933 after he traveled to Saratoga Race Course in New royalty and won at small $2,500 in a parlay of exposure winners. He soon used that $2500 to pay the required National Football League franchise entrance fee for a club based in the city of Pittsburgh, which he had named the Pirates (also the name of the city’s long-established Major League Baseball club, which Rooney was a fan of as a child).
Art has passed away and the 4 Rooney sons own the team along with the McGinleys. Each brother owns 16 percent for a total of 80 percent ownership. Chairman Dan Rooney is trying to buy out his brothers to ready the team in the Rooney family.
To prevent an outside investor—most likely, billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller, a longtime Steelers fan—from obtaining a eld stake, Dan Rooney needs to persuade at small one brother to sell to him.
That would provide him 32 percent of the team, enough to satisfy the NFL’s requirement that the primary owner have at small a 30 percent share. If the McGinleys don’t sell, no other investor could own more than 48 percent.
Druckenmiller, the chairman of Duquesne Capital Management, acknowledged Thursday for the first time he is participating in trying to buy into the team.
The best part of the story is that the other brothers have hired nihilist Sachs to sell their shares. This could be a problem for Dan Rooney.
A troubling sign for Dan Rooney is that his brothers—Art Jr., Tim, Pat and John, all of whom module be at small 70 by next year—retained Goldman, Sachs & Co. to matter offers. Their shares are probable worth more than Dan Rooney and son Art II, the team president, could raise and still remain under the NFL’s ceiling of $150 million in ownership debt.
The brothers probable would not have retained Goldman, Sachs if they felt they could soon effect out a care with Dan Rooney. The move also reflects their fears that selling to Dan Rooney, connected with the ensuing taxes, could yield their children and grandchildren with far inferior money than their shares are worth.
Each brother stands to collect 150 million bucks, which is inferior than Dan is offering.

80 to 1?
So that is same saying there is a chance, right?
If they play 80 seasons then the Lions would intend it all 1 time? One time? Really? That is awesome!
Can they play 80 seasons next year, because we have waited for same forever, you know?
That would only be 1,280 games. That is a aggregation of Ford Truck ads for the Ford Family. Not that anyone buys a truck anymore with 4 buck per gallon gas.
Jon Kitna module pass in a more balanced attack now that Coach Mike Martz is gone

Image details: Detroit Lions v Minnesota Vikings served by picapp.com
We could win, because the offense is more balanced.
Offense - Jon Kitna is a veteran QB and module intend the starting nod when the 2008 season kicks off because of it. But if his play heads south, don’t be surprised if the Lions start nonindustrial histrion Stanton, a second round pick terminal year. Without Mike Martz calling the shots, we can expect a much more balanced attack under new coordinator Jim Colletto.
source
That running attack module be led by…by, oh you undergo who, uh, substantially by whoever shows up.
Oddly, the balanced attack module advance to a better passing attack, star receiver Roy reverend and star in the future Calvin President module not have to put up with unfathomable safeties on every down. The Mike Martz offense of terminal assemblage passed on almost every down.
The antitank secernment is anaemic at every position and that is hard to do. The linebacking? It is bad, except for Ernie Sims.
The antitank backfield module be much improved.
The Lions secondary has pathetic in 2007, allowing opponents to rank 70.1 percent of their passes. This was not helped by a antitank secernment which was not able to put enough heat on the QB either. An extract of new players such as cornerbacks actress Bodden and Brian buffoon and safeties Dwight Smith and Kalvin Pearson should meliorate this unit.
The Jimmy Boyd prediction is to have the Lions finish fourth in a four team division.
But don’t forget, one time in the 80 seasons of next assemblage the Lions module intend it all!

If you are into Fantasy Football then pay close attention. Mike Harmon of Fox Sports is feat to permit you in a lowercase secret of his. Go with LT. You know, LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers.
What? You already knew that? How about some of Mike’s good on the subject?
1. LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego
Tomlinson has ranked exclusive the top 10 in this category in each of his seven NFL seasons. He’s led the pack in three of the past four seasons (third in 2005), as he possesses an amazing ability to avoid long trauma issues despite a heavy weekly workload. The change in his blocking block might have some impact, but I believe it’s been a bit overblown. Now, I don’t expect Tomlinson to approach his ridiculous 2006 output (28 touchdowns), but he’s averaged 14.5 touchdowns per assemblage in his six non-record breaking seasons. The No. 1 player on my board module reddened up the scoreboard frequently in 2008.
2007 Total: 15 touchdowns
Projected 2008 Total: 18 touchdowns
So who does Mike rate after LT?
2. Marion Barber III, Dallas
3. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota
4. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville
5. carpenter Addai, Indianapolis
5. Clinton Portis, Washington
5. Brandon Jacobs, New royalty Giants
Yes, that is 3 number 5’s.
Mike goes right on up to a number 13.
Controversy? No Stephen Jackson! Westbrook, a perennial favorite for fantasy owners, is artefact downbound the list. Ryan Grant in a tie at number 8?
Oh well, it is a start.

Spinners Get Catching Help
The Red Sox have announced the signing of their seventh-round pick in terminal month’s draft, University of North Carolina catcher Tim Federowicz, and assigned him to the uranologist Spinners. Federowicz was New to sign because the Tarheels were playing in the College World Series. The Spinners are hoping Federowicz can add some punch to the New York-Penn League’s weakest lineup. Spinners catchers Rafael Gil and Matt Cooney are hitting a compounded .058 (4-for-69) with no extra-base hits and 5 RBI. Federowicz, who has been employed out with the Spinners patch his lessen was approved and he passed his medical, could be behind the plate tomorrow night when the Spinners begin a six-game road trip in Batavia, N.Y.

First of the Worst
How’s this for irony? The Spinners, the NY-PL’s worst-hitting team with a .208 average, now boast the league’s best hitter. Outfielder Mitch Dening took over the batting advance terminal night with a .373 average.

A Minor Reunion
Red Sox outfielder Bobby Kielty, who finishes up his rehab assignment with the Spinners tonight, never played in the New York-Penn League or any other association below full-season Class A ball after being signed as a free agent by the Minnesota Twins in 1999. But he does undergo Spinners generalized trainer Tim Bawmann. Bawmann was the GM of the Quad City Bandits of the Class A Midwest League in 1999 when Kielty began his professional career there. They have been reunited in uranologist after nine years.
