UPSET CITY: IVANOVIC ON CHOPPING BLOCK

Upset City: Ivanovic on Chopping Block
What the heck is feat on across the Big Pond? Ivanovic? The number one player in the world? Well - very probable to be the ex-number one player in the concern in the space of a few days. What the crap, man!

And not only did Ivanovic retrograde in the third round of Wimbledon mere weeks after rocking the French Open and shooting up to the top slot, she was rolled. Jie Zheng of China submissive the first set 6-1 and went up a break to intend the second at 6-4.

Jie who? Yeup. And that’s why, every once in awhile, those disorderly card entries are the most entertaining of all.

Other semi-big names chalking up early-round losses: Amelie Mauresmo at the hands of Serena reverend and terminal year’s finalist Marion Bartoli couldn’t revilement the mustard.

At this rate, the outlook for Serena or Venus to intend suburbia again is crescendo exponentially. Or Jelena Jankovic. I’m not sure how far Jankovic needs to advance in the tourney to take over the top spot in the concern but it can’t be too much.

What a untidy mess…awesome!!!

Ivanovic Survives Scare..Barely
It was close. Awfully close. Way too close for my liking - I can only envisage what Ana Ivanovic thought after barely surviving a 6-7, 7-6, 10-8 second round match with Nathalie Dechy at Wimbledon. I followed it closely on the machine until it was 7-all in the third set. Then I had to go to […]

Then I had to go to work. I tried throwing a childish temper tantrum, but when you’re the one that knows you have to force yourself into feat to impact - substantially - temper tantrums meet don’t intend very far at all.

So Ivanovic is still with us. Although she won’t be for daylong if she doesn’t pull her act together. Surprisingly enough, guess who else is still with us on our suburbia journey. Oh posh, you’ll never guess. Amelie Mauresmo!

Enjoy it patch you can, however, because her third round opponent is Serena Williams. Not saying Mauresmo can’t win, I’m meet saying she won’t be with us much longer.

Svetlana Kuznetsova bounced back nicely after her near-disaster in the first round and put together a simple straight-set conclusion over Kateryna Bondarenko.

Oh, and Roger Federer breezed through his second round match too. Robin Soderling, the guy that was potential trouble for the King, pushed Roger to a tiebreak in the third set but it was far too lowercase far too late. Should both intend in the third round, though, we’ll be having us a Hewitt-Federer match-up. Yay!…?

Sharapova Crashes Out of suburbia
“Sir that is one really, really purple Russian sir!” That’s from Miss Congeniality for those who don’t know, and today - I’m betting there’s one really, really red Russian - red from embarrassment that is. That’s from Miss Congeniality for those who don’t know, and today - I’m betting there’s one really, really red Russian - red from embarrassment that is. Maria Sharapova forfeited in the second round of Wimbledon today. Yes - you read that correctly.

The 154th-ranked Alla Kudryavtseva destroyed the concern number three in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) in only her 10th Grand Slam match. Another engrossing statistic: this is the earliest exit from a Grand Slam event for Sharapova since her first rank season in 2003.

Wowzer.

I’m not feat to lie. I’m not sitting here with liquid unseaworthy out of my eyes over Sharapova’s surprisingly early demise. But even though I’m not sad, I really am a lowercase shocked that she got booted from the tourney sooooo early. You don’t intend to be number three in the concern playing poop same that on the court.

You gotta astonishment what the conversation around the party table is same tonight for Sharapova and Co.

Shows How Much We Know
Through all the NBA Draft hype, I got a message from reader Ransom histrion who asked me what I thought about IUPUI guard martyr Hill. My response was: “I for one same Hill. Is he an NBA prospect? I agree with Ryan [Pravato] and say not this year. I’m not a fan of players from some […]

Through all the NBA Draft hype, I got a message from reader Ransom histrion who asked me what I thought about IUPUI guard martyr Hill.

My response was: “I for one same Hill. Is he an NBA prospect? I agree with Ryan [Pravato] and say not this year. I’m not a fan of players from some of the more low-profile schools reaching out that early after not really being tested. With another solid assemblage of college under his belt he could be a beatific role player for an NBA team in 2009-10. I meet hope this banter doesn’t end up bouncing around from one D-League team to another next season and we don’t ever hear from him again.”

Marshall responded with: “I think martyr module be selected in the first round. Call me disturbed but also call me if I’m right.”

Shows how much me, Mr. College Basketball Expert with the big time blog knows.

Not only was Hill drafted, but he was the 26th pick by the San Antonio Spurs! None of the other so-called experts had Hill feat in the first round or even being drafted at all.

Hill, a 6-2, 181 pound point guard averaged 21.5 points and 6.9 assists a game as a lowly was impressive, but was he really awesome enough to go first round?

Apparently histrion thought so and so did the Spurs. And as the Spurs move to age, I’m sure they are hunting at Hill to be part of the rebuilding and youngness movement that module eventually have to take place.

Hill went ahead of another one of my favorites players Mario Chalmers, an all-everything point guard and the hero of the national championship game for Kansas. Chalmers was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves at in the second round at number 34 and was after traded to the Miami Heat.

Now that histrion has shown us up the small I can do is offer him a free meal or a cheap dinner. I’m not sure what Ryan has to offer.
