It’s Friday, folks … need I say more? As is the case every week, myself, Bruce, and Charlie are all here to bring you another scrumdidliumpcious (not sure if it’s even a word … and, definitely not sure on the spelling) redention of our ever-so-over-glorified “Loose in Turn Three.”

It’s been an engrossing assemblage in NASCAR … that’s something I don’t think anyone would dissent with … and, with guys same Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards directive the race intend column, I find it engrossing that there’s a few other guys who have ranked amongst the most dominating drivers of 2008, still they still have no wins to show for it. This week, we’re feat to examine Greg Biffle’s string of misfortunes and watch whether or not his team at Roush can conquer, overcome, and attain the Chase for the Sprint Cup. And, of course, as is always the case, we’ve got plenty more to talk about as well, so attain sure you go check out Bruce and Charlie’s pages to read the rest of the conversation once you’re finished here.

So, sit back and buckle up tight. Three questions, three voices, and three assorted answer … we’re about to intend Loose in Turn Three!

Q: Greg Biffle has had some enthusiastic runs this season, but the results haven’t finished him official as he continues to have some of the poorest phenomenon in the garage area. After a dull 2007 season, can the no. 16 team ready it together daylong enough through the next 10 races to ready Greg in Chase contention?

TZ: Because of his horrible (by his standards) 2007 campaign, I think a aggregation of people have forgotten meet how truly talented this cat is. I mean, you don’t intend the Nationwide AND Craftsman Truck titles by being a fly-by-night success, and if he can ever intend that Cup championship added to his resume’ he’d be the first utility to have ever won all three. There’s probably about five races this assemblage that these guys could’ve - maybe even should’ve won, but they’ve had some of the poorest phenomenon thinkable (albeit, some of it self-induced), and yet, they remain 7th in points. They’re gonna intend it figured out eventually, and when they do, not only module Greg attain the Chase, but he could even converse to intend the full shit thing.

Bruce: That’s a tough one to predict. You can’t predict bad phenomenon and dumb timing, but then with that team, I think you can! If they don’t have any more quality issues, I think they can provide Biffle the shot he needs to intend in the chase.

Charlie: It won’t be easy. And it would help if - and this is still an if, I think - the lessen extention got finished same this week. It has to be a distraction. Biffle hasn’t been all that happy with the equipement and preparation that he’s been effort this year, remember. I’m not sure that he asribes all of his troubles to “bad luck”. The fact that Matt Kenseth has edged into the top twelve, and Dave Ragan is close, is probably beatific news. Maybe Roush is effort things figured out. I say Greg hangs on to attain the Chase.

Follow the rest of this discussion:
- Fuel prices are feat up and up. Everywhere, everyone is feeling the pinch in every aspect of our lives. Our beloved sport is starting to be looked at as a pedal guzzling sport. Should NASCAR and Sunoco attain a conjunctive effort to modify the sport over to a inferior fossil fuel centric sport? (Bruces NASCAR Bits & Pieces)

- After what we saw at Infineon, is there still a place for “road instruction ringers” in the Cup Series? (On Pit Row)

Mears Leaving Hendrick? histrion to Replace Him? Que Wha …?
By now, most of you are probably familiar with the some rumors surrounding the status of Casey Mears and the no. 5 team over at Hendrick Motorsports for 2009. Rumors Indicate that Casey Mears Could Be Getting Replaced at Hendrick” />

By now, most of you are probably familiar with the some rumors surrounding the status of Casey Mears and the no. 5 team over at Hendrick Motorsports for 2009. Several sources are indicating that Rick Hendrick may have notified Casey terminal hebdomad that his tenure with HMS was reaching to an end at the closing of this season, and already, the rumor mill has been lit up once again with all sorts of speculations.

The most intriguing, and for once, make-sense of these rumors comes from Lee Spencer over at Fox Sports, where she throws out the notion that Hendrick may be hunting to promote <a target=Brad Keselowski from the Nationwide Series ranks, where he currently drives for Hendrick affiliate, JR Motorsports. Keselowski, who earned the first NNS intend of his career earlier this season, could be Hendrick’s long-term solution to the Joe chemist Racing phenom, Joey Logano, but if these sources hold true, Hendrick would probable take a much assorted approach.

Whereas we could see a fourth team car implimented by JGR next season meet to intend Logano a full-time ride, Hendrick would approach it from a assorted angle, engaging Keselowski into a driver/mentor program, pairing him with the guy that’s finished meet that for a experience since retiring from full-time action in 2006 … you guessed it, Mark Martin.

I never thought I’d see the period that Mark Martin would intend behind the rotate of a Hendrick-branded car, but I’m seeing it now. ESPN is reporting that Mark has already addicted that he module deviate DEI after this year. In an odd twist to the story, though, they are also reporting that histrion module tie the no. 5 team in an effort to attain one terminal full-time run at the championship. That part of it I’m having a tough time buying off on for a pair of reasons. Aside from ESPN’s shakey and somewhat unreliable NASCAR reporting this year, I really feel that if Mark was feat to take on another full season of racing, it would’ve been terminal assemblage when he was substantially in position to attain a bid for the Chase before finally stepping out of the car at Bristol.

Of course, we haven’t thrown nearly enough names into the fire to intend the spicy rumor mill that we’ve grown quite accustomed to this year, so nascar.com definite to attain sure we all took notice to the comments prefabricated by Juan Pablo Montoya on Sunday.

“Is it really true that Casey Mears is out of the 5 car?” was the first thing he said when confronted by reporters following the Toyota Save/Mart 350 at Infineon.

I’ll admit - I’m not too privy to the info of Montoya’s underway lessen with Chip Ganassi Racing, but that deal’s about to expire, then Juan is a name that has floated under the radar with flying colors, and would certainly add a lowercase more flavor to the silly season gossip. He’s already holding his own over at Ganassi - even in the midst of employed with three assorted gathering chiefs during the first 16 races of the season. You have to astonishment what the former Formula One star could do in some Hendrick furnished equipment!

So, is Mears on his artefact out of the Hendrick camp? Yeah, I think he is. It’s a notion that we’ve toyed around with all season daylong - even before the recent rumors - and, to me, the embellish is stacked against him on this one. It’s a make-sense move for HMS to permit him go. Bringing Keselowski up through the ranks would allow them to centre their championship efforts on the trio of Gordon, Johnson, and Jr. next season … and, even a exposure care same Montoya would expand their merchandise and fan base even more.

Now, where he could twine up is anyone’s guess. The fourth car over at Richard Childress Racing would be my first inclination, but there are several other possibilities still holdup out there. Even with Greg Biffle expected to announce a re-signing with Roush-Fenway Racing this weekend, a potential slot could still open up there if Jack were to release Jamie McMurray from the organization, as some people were speculating on meet a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, issues still do not appear to be resolved between Ryan Newman and the Penske Racing organization, and I’ve even heard talk about Casey headed somewhere same Haas CNC Racing, or even a return to Ganassi.

Yes … Silly Season is still a mess.

Lining up on the exclusive of Row 2 module be Scott Riggs, whom same Carpentier, enters Sunday’s race outside of the top-35 in owner’s points, and is in dreaded need of a beatific finish. Next to him module be 2006 New Hampshire winner, Kevin Harvick. Row 3 consists of fan favorite, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Reed Sorenson, who returns to the no. 41 Chip Ganassi Dodge after sitting out terminal hebdomad at Infineon. Dario Franchitti and histrion Truex Jr. qualified 7th and 8th, and Matt Kenseth and AJ Allmendinger round out the top-10 starters.

Last year’s race winners at New Hampshire, Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer, qualified 12th and 18th respectively. NASCAR Rivals: Kevin Harvick vs. Tony Stewart
Okay, so they’re actually pretty beatific friends and probably the furthest thing from being rivals with one another, but still. Okay, so they’re actually pretty beatific friends and probably the furthest thing from being rivals with one another, but still. It’s pretty abnormal for Smoke to run this unfathomable into the season without a Sprint Cup intend to show for it, but so far in 2008, he’s managed to do meet that. Of course, the racing Gods haven’t really seemed to help Stewart out much in that department, either. What … a pit road speeding ravishment during the terminal round of stops at Pocono … the revilement tire at Charlotte … the New race ruin at Talladega … the mid-race ruin at Vegas … and, of course, the terminal travel pass at Daytona … all races that Stewart could have won - but, didn’t.

But, move … I believe there’s two more, the most recent of which came this past Sunday at Infineon Raceway at the Toyota Save/Mart 350. With only a small handful of laps remaining and Stewart 2nd and Kevin Harvick in 4th, Harvick got into the turn to fast and clipped the no. 26 Ford of Jamie McMurray. McMurray then got into Stewart, once again taking a success opportunity out of Smoke’s hands, though he did somehow control to become back for a top-ten finish.

That wasn’t the first time that Harvick took the race out of Harvick’s hands this year, though. When the series ran at Bristol back in March, Harvick was racing Stewart for 2nd place in the terminal five laps of the race when Harvick got downbound on the apron feat through turn 2, and he climbed up the track and got into Tony, sending him from 2nd to 14th meet same that.

Despite attempts from the media, Stewart refused to show any angst towards Harvick following the incident at Sonoma this past Sunday, and all indications are that the two are still on beatific terms. But, of course, anytime they feel that their friendship has hit a rough patch, I’m sure Kevin module be more than selection to wax Tony again. Eeeewww.
