The NBA has not prefabricated an official announcement, but sources are saying that Kobe has won the MVP award.
Your intrepid author has mentioned this possibility before.
Kobe has had a fabulous season in directive the Los Angeles Lakers to the second round of the playoffs.
Bryant averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.84 steals patch playing in all 82 games despite tearing a ligament in his right pinkie finger in February. A hand specialist recommended surgery, but Bryant definite to put it off until after the Olympics this summer.
He led the Lakers to the best record in the Western Conference and a sweep of Denver in the first round of the playoffs. The Lakers open the second round Sunday against Utah at Staples Center.
Kobe module intend the award over Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett (NBA Defensive player of the year), Dwight Howard (All Star Slam Dunk Champion), and LeBron James.
NBA Basketball special comment Kobe was overdue for the MVP award.

MVP Reaction from Boston
Posted By Lynn Worthy, Sun Staff
The NBA officially announced Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has been named the 2007-08 Most Valuable Player.
Bryant beat out New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul for the honor, the first of Bryant’s 11-year career. Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was third in the voting. Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron saint finished fourth.
“He’s a enthusiastic player,” Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown said. “You’re a lowercase shocked this is the first time he won it, but he’s meet as worthy as LeBron. I’m a lowercase bias.”
Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was conversant of the voting by the press before tonight‘s game.
“I meet thought LeBron should be higher,” he said before quipping, “We’re playing Cleveland, right? As a matter of fact. I thought he should’ve won.
“I really had no intent what the voting was. I meet knew that Kobe had won. I don’t countenance at it all that much.”

Nuggets Hopeless Against Lakers
Kobe Bryant prefabricated it very clear during his halftime discourse that nobody on the Denver Nugget’s roster was able to even attempt to guard him. He is right. Bad knees Kenyon histrion and mental relapsing JR Smith (and to slow Kleiza) all are enthusiastic matchups for Kobe Bryant. Iverson and Anthony Carter are to small to indorse Bryant.
The point is there is nothing martyr Karl can do to intend back in this series. The Nuggets became a one and finished team once they failed to attain a care before the trade deadline. There are several structure the Nuggets could have attempted to meliorate their defense. Iverson needed to move to the point guard (which is where they started him terminal game anyways). This would have allowed the Nuggets to go out and trade for a shooting guard to become in and guard guys same Kobe. Didn’t someone indite an article about this meet before the trade deadline? The Nuggets could have moved Eddie Najera (expiring contract) for Evangelist Salmons and Justin Williams. Then instead of starting Kleiza the Nuggets would have been able to start someone at 6′6 who actually could attempt to stay with Bryant.
The Nugget’s front office have basically ruined Denver’s chances of competing in the playoffs. This is news to them, but it does actually take skill to put together a cohesive roster. The Nuggets have had this problem at the two guard since the Nuggets drafted Carmelo Anthony. Vo physicist couldn’t defend. Greg Buckner could ready defenses honest. The Nuggets have needed a shooting guard ever since Fat Lever mitt Denver. Wait isn’t his son playing professional ball now?
Seriously, it is about time the Nuggets went out and got pieces that fit around Carmelo Anthony. Allen Iverson does not fit around Anthony. Anthony needs to be around shooters. Michael Redd and Rip Hamilton are two guys that would neaten substantially with Anthony. Hopefully the Nuggets move their veterans over the summer and try and rebuild the right way. Otherwise, based on their previous moves, we can expect more of the same.
Pat Riley steps downbound as Miami Heat Coach
This comes inferior than a month after the team had one of its poorest seasons ever. From the Sun-Sentinel-
MIAMI - Last place and the Hall of Fame module be the final two stops of Pat Riley’s coaching career.
In a move that took life of pace but was hinted at months in advance, Riley announced today he is stepping downbound as coach of the Heat to centre fulltime on what had been his dual role as team president.
The announcement was prefabricated at an afternoon news word at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Assistant coach Erik Spoelstra was named Riley’s replacement. Spoelstra has been with the franchise for 12 seasons.
Born Nov. 1, 1970, Spoelstra becomes the youngest underway NBA coach, 69 life junior than Nets coach martyr Frank.
In September Riley gets inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, an honor he deserves.
Riley quit coaching the Heat once before in 2004, but came back the following year. As daylong as the Heat are as bad as they are, Riley won’t be coaching them again. I intend the crisp notion Riley can’t stand unceasing losing. On the other hand if the team looks sure for a title, he’ll step back in. Look what happened with Stan Van Gundy in 2005.
Right now the Heat are a daylong artefact from success anything. They have one certifiable star(Wade) who at the same time is brittle. After that, the team doesn’t have much. Miami is in for a rebuilding project. I astonishment if Riley has the patience to see it through as team President.
Chicago Bears RB Cedric Benson arrested
Another NFL off season, another NFL player in trouble with the law.
AUSTIN, Texas - Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson was charged with failing a sobriety test patch operating a 30-foot boat, then resisting arrest before being hit with pepper spray and dragged ashore by officers.
Benson faces charges of boating patch bacchanalian and resisting arrest after the incident Saturday night on Lake Travis, Travis County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Roger Wade said Sunday.
Benson was released from slammer early Sunday on a $14,500 bond. The charges are class B misdemeanors, each punishable by up to six months in slammer and a $2,000 fine. A call to Benson’s agent was not directly returned.
Benson was operating the boat with 15 passengers aboard when he was stopped by a Lower Colorado River Authority officer for a random safety inspection. He failed a field sobriety test on the officer’s boat and was uncooperative when the officer tried to take him ashore, the authority said.
Players effort arrested for DUI or being bacchanalian are regular occurences. The only reason Benson stands out, is because he did it patch boating. Leave it to NFL players to find some assorted structure to intend in trouble with the law.
