According to the article, Burse has missed her terminal few games with her European team and the team module have an announcement this hebdomad about her condition. The biggest problem has apparently been what’s called a Jones fracture (I had to countenance it up myself).
She was seriously considering offseason surgery, until determining against it at the end of the season. In her defense, she had meet undergone surgery to repair dilapidated ligaments in her carpus after spraining it July 24.
But it’s a designer fracture, which occurred during her 2006-07 offseason, that appears to be Burse’s most pressing injury.
“She still has some holdup issues with her shoulder and she’s had a unceasing designer fracture. I don’t undergo if it’s totally healed yet,” Agler said. “I think that’s sort of been an supply here of late. So, we’re not real clear on what the ending is feat to be, but we module probably undergo here in the next pair days.”
We also see from the P-I about Sheryl Swoopes’ probable return this week.

Indiana Fever players ball with Barack Obama
Tamika Catchings and Alison Bales got together for a quick game of 3-on-3 with presidential candidate Barack Obama after an Indiana rally. Catchings is still recovering from surgery, so she reffed, but Bales clogged the lane for the Democrat. No word on how they all played, though. If you happen to be a fan of the men’s sports, you may already undergo that leagues hold rookie camps fashioned to teach players about various aspects of being a professional athlete, but I found this article on the WNBA’s rookie camp a lowercase more interesting. The association holds a rookie camp on style and fashion. From the Chicago Tribune.
As part of the rookies’ orientation into chronicle as professional athletes, the WNBA for the first time offered them hour-long courses on cosmetics and fashion tips. The courses, at an O’Hare airport hotel, prefabricated up about a third of the two-day orientation, which also featured seminars on financial advice, media training and fitness and nutrition.
…
Marketing players is perhaps more essential than ever, and the WNBA realizes that it’s still a tough sell.
“It’s all tributary to how to be a professional,” association President Donna Orender said of the orientation classes. “I do believe there’s more focus on a woman’s physical appearance. Men are straight out accepted for their athletic ability. That’s reality. I think it’s true in every aspect of the impact force. This is all about a broader-based education.”
It’s an engrossing read on the type of advice players are presented about fashion, cosmetics and style, with a bit extra on the marketability of No. 1 plan pick Candace Parker, but this was my favorite part of the story.
Alexis Hornbuckle, a rookie guard with the city Shock, said she rarely wears cosmetics but module start thinking about it more now.
“Appearance is important, whether you’re an athlete or not,” Hornbuckle said. “Hey, you’ve got to play the game. That’s life.”

The beginning of the 2008-09 season module be huge for Arenas and his fantasy basketball future. If Arenas can’t intend back to his old self by the beginning of next season, it may be time to realize that he may never be the same. Originally his articulatio trauma wasn’t thought of as extremely serious but with the slowness of his recovery, it’s hard to believe differently.
In fantasy basketball drafts next season, Arenas module be a high risk, high reward pick. Given his ceiling, it’s tough to envisage Arenas dropping out of the second round. When healthy, Arenas has the ability to be a top 15 fantasy player.
The beatific news for Arenas is that he seems ready and selection to put in the impact to rehab his knee.
“I’m feat to take my time and prepare for next season,” Arenas told the Associated Press. “I’m feat to be smart about it this year. I’m feat to have five or six months to intend this thing strong again and ready to go again.”

Joey Dorsey, Memphis
Although Memphis almost won the 2008 national championship, Joey Dorsey hasn’t received much assign for that team’s play. There’s a beatific shot that he’ll be drafted in the second round of the draft, however there’s a chance that he could turn into a Ben insurrectionist type player.
Nathan Jawai, Australia
At 6-foot-10 and 275 pounds, Nathan Jawai is a very super prospect. He’s also very raw. He currently plays in the Australian basketball association and he’s bit of an unknown. But with his size and his success in Australia, there’s a chance that he could be a second round steal.
Keith Brumbaugh, Hillsborough CC
Keith Brumbaugh is a former standout recruit who fell on some hard times. He’s back to playing basketball and showed a aggregation of potential on the JUCO level. He has enthusiastic size for a perimeter player and a aggregation of natural. Brumbaugh could be a New flyer that pans out.
