“He was a draft-eligible player,” Marinelli said. “My employ is to find guys who can play football, and if he’s draft-eligible, you would expect me to find him.”

Cedric Benson is in big trouble.
Benson failed a sobriety test patch operating a 30-foot boat on Lake Travis near Austin and resisted arrest before being hit with pepper spray, Travis County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Roger Wade said Sunday.
He was released from slammer early Sunday on a $14,500 bond. The charges are class B misdemeanors, each punishable by up to six months in slammer and a $2,000 fine.
Cedric Benson has definite to fight the charges.
He says he was not bacchanalian and the police used excessive force.
Cedric’s version of the story is artefact assorted from the police version. He makes it sound same he was all polite and compliant, but didn’t he fail the initial sobriety test?
Police don’t meet fire off the pepper spray. Give me a break.
Carney added Benson did nothing “aggressive” until after he was pepper sprayed, when he started screaming for his mother and the boat. He said officers threw his client to the connector and poured liquid on him to clean away the spray, causing Benson to choke.
“They might as substantially have been waterboarding him,” Carney said.

The PGA golfers are in Irving, Texas this weekend competing in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, a part of the PGA circuit since 1944. But who is Byron Nelson, for whom the tournament is named? Simply, the best participant of his era.
Bryon Nelson played the PGA Tour from 1935 to 1946, before retiring from the game to be a rancher and part time sport announcer. In his relatively short career, he won had 52 PGA wins and five wins in field championships–two at the Masters, one at the US Open, and two at the PGA Championship.
Byron was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and is ranked as the #5 participant of all time by Golf Digest magazine. Byron died in 2006 at the age of 94.

It does not matter what you think of the struggle in Iraq, it takes a brave and sacred individualist to represent and indorse their country. Caleb Campbell is that category of Negro and Coach Rod Marinelli recognized his character and his ability to play football.
Campbell is the first Army football player to benefit from a new policy allowing athletes with a chance to play professionally to rank their service by serving as recruiters and in the reserves.
Campbell module still be on active duty. He’ll serve as a recruiter, spending his Tuesday off life from the Lions temporary high schools and working. If his career lasts more than two seasons, he module have the option of buying out the terminal three eld of his active-duty dedication in exchange for six eld in the reserves.
Not only was Caleb on the TV daylong before he was drafted, with an interview, but they brought him back for another discourse after he was drafted in the 7th round by the city Lions.

Lions coach Rod Marinelli, who served a tour in Vietnam, said on TV that picking the 6-foot-2, 229-pound Campbell was no flyer, and that the former Black Knights antitank back would be used as a linebacker, at small initially. The son of GM Matt Millen is a cadet at West Point.
